Daily marriage devotionals for growing godly marriages

Daily marriage devotionals for growing Christian marriages

These daily marriage devotionals are compiled from verses that we have shared with Christian couples in many counseling sessions over many years. Please read one per day and meditate on how it applies to your marriage. (Note: if you are not certain you are a Christian, please read The Sinner’s Prayer)

See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; (Deuteronomy 30:15)

“Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. For I command you this day to love the LORD your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulations by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you and the land you are about to enter and occupy. (https://biblehub.com/nlt/deuteronomy/30.htm)

In marriage, it can be easy to get caught up in the daily grind and to neglect the things that truly matter. We might focus on our own needs and desires, rather than seeking to serve and love our spouse. However, Deuteronomy 30:15 reminds us that we have a choice between life and good, or death and evil.

This verse speaks to the importance of making wise and godly choices in our lives. In the context of marriage, this might mean choosing to love and serve our spouse, rather than focusing on our own needs and desires. It might mean choosing to communicate and resolve conflicts in a healthy and godly way, rather than letting resentment and bitterness build up.

It also means choosing to follow God’s will and guidance in our lives. This might involve seeking His wisdom and guidance as we navigate the challenges and joys of marriage. It might also mean choosing to follow His commands and to live a righteous and godly life.

So the next time you are feeling overwhelmed or unsure in your marriage, remember Deuteronomy 30:15 and the choice that you have before you. Choose life and good, and seek to serve and love your spouse in ways that honor God. By making wise and godly choices, you will be laying a strong foundation for your marriage.
