These daily marriage devotionals are compiled from verses that we have shared with Christian couples in many counseling sessions over many years. Please read one per day and meditate on how it applies to your marriage. (Note: if you are not certain you are a Christian, please read The Sinner’s Prayer)
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. (Proverbs 16:24)
Proverbs 16:24 tells us that pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. This verse reminds us of the power of our words, not only in our relationship with others, but also in our marriage.
When we speak pleasant words to our spouse, it helps to bring joy and positivity to our relationship. It allows us to navigate the challenges of life together with a sense of hope and optimism. On the other hand, when we speak harsh or unkind words to our spouse, it can bring negativity and despair to our relationship.
So, how do we cultivate a habit of speaking pleasant words in our marriage? One way is to make a conscious effort to speak words of encouragement and positivity to our spouse. When we speak life-giving words to each other, it helps to build each other up and to cultivate a sense of joy and positivity in our relationship.
Another way is to make a habit of thanking our spouse for the things they do for us. When we express gratitude to our spouse, it helps to bring a sense of appreciation and joy to our relationship.
So, as you go about your day, remember the power of pleasant words in your marriage. Make a conscious effort to speak words of encouragement and positivity to your spouse, and express gratitude for the things
