These daily marriage devotionals are compiled from verses that we have shared with Christian couples in many counseling sessions over many years. Please read one per day and meditate on how it applies to your marriage. (Note: if you are not certain you are a Christian, please read The Sinner’s Prayer)
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. (2 Peter 3:18)
"2 Peter 3:18" states, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” The Greek word for “grow” in this verse is “auxanō,” which means to increase, grow, or become greater.
In a marriage relationship, it is important for both partners to grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. This growth leads to a deeper understanding of God’s love and a more intimate relationship with Him.
Here are five practical examples from the Bible of how to grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ in your marriage:
Read and study the Bible together: Regularly reading and studying the Bible together can deepen your understanding of God’s character and ways.
Pray together: Regularly praying together can help you grow in your relationship with God and with each other.
Serve others together: Serving others in the name of Jesus is a powerful way to demonstrate His love and grow in grace.
Seek godly counsel: Surrounding yourselves with wise and godly individuals who can offer guidance and support in your spiritual growth.
Be accountable to each other: Encourage each other to be accountable in your spiritual growth and to encourage each other in the faith.
By growing in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, you can strengthen your relationship with Him and with each other, bringing glory to God in your marriage.
