Daily marriage devotionals for growing Christian marriages

These daily marriage devotionals are compiled from verses that we have shared with Christian couples in many counseling sessions over many years. Please read one per day and meditate on how it applies to your marriage. (Note: if you are not certain you are a Christian, please read The Sinner’s Prayer)

The night is far gone, and the day is near. Let’s therefore throw off the works of darkness, and let’s put on the armor of light. (Romans 13:12)

Our time on earth is limited and that we should be living in a way that is pleasing to God. It also encourages us to put aside the things of the world and to instead put on the armor of light, which represents righteousness and holiness.

One way to put this verse into practice is to be mindful of our actions and the choices we make. Do they reflect the values and character of Jesus, or do they align with the ways of the world? By striving to live a life that is pleasing to God, we can bring honor and glory to him.

Another way to apply this verse is to seek out opportunities to share the love of Jesus with others. As we put on the armor of light, we can be a shining example of the love and grace of Jesus to those around us.

Overall, Romans 13:12 is a reminder to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to God. By putting aside the deeds of darkness and putting on the armor of light, we can bring honor and glory to him and be a shining example of his love to those around us.
