These daily marriage devotionals are compiled from verses that we have shared with Christian couples in many counseling sessions over many years. Please read one per day and meditate on how it applies to your marriage. (Note: if you are not certain you are a Christian, please read The Sinner’s Prayer)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 NASB
When we trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in all of our ways, He promises to make our paths straight. This includes the path of our marriage. Trusting in the Lord and acknowledging Him in our marriage means that we seek His will and guidance in every decision and challenge that we face as a couple. It means that we rely on His strength and wisdom, rather than our own.
One way to trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in our marriage is to pray together regularly. This helps to keep our focus on God and His plan for our relationship, rather than our own desires and agendas. It also allows us to bring our struggles and concerns to Him and seek His guidance and comfort.
Another way to trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in our marriage is to study the Bible together. The Bible is full of wisdom and guidance for relationships, and reading and discussing it together can help us to grow in our understanding of God’s design for marriage.
Trusting in the Lord and acknowledging Him in our marriage also means that we seek to honor and serve Him in all that we do as a couple. This includes being faithful to Him and to each other, and living out the values and principles that He has taught us in His Word.
Remember, when we trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in all of our ways, He will make straight our paths. This includes the path of our marriage. Trust in Him and seek His will and guidance, and He will lead you and your spouse on a journey of love, joy, and blessings.
