In this post, I don’t want to influence your opinion of evolution. I just want you to consider that evolution is faith-based.
If you believe evolution is true, have you personally ever seen the proof? If you believe evolution is true because you trust someone, or because you trust some organization, or because you trust anything, that is faith. Because…
Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
I am not saying faith is good and I’m not saying faith is bad. I am just concluding that evolution is faith-based. The scientific method requires…
- Scientific researchers propose hypotheses as explanations of phenomena
- Design experimental studies to test these hypotheses via predictions which can be derived from them
- These steps must be repeatable to guard against mistake or confusion in any particular experimenter
The only point of the video is that we can’t use the scientific method on evolution so it must be accepted by faith. Any other conclusion you may draw from that video is accidental and unintentional.
If you have faith in evolution, that is okay. If you have faith in creation, that is okay. They are both faith! Neither one is science. Now, if we want to discuss whether faith in evolution is better or worse than faith in creation, then we need to be careful to remember we are talking about faith. Christians especially should be very careful…
Again I say, don’t get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants. (2 Timothy 2:23-26)
Please forgive me for not always living up to that standard.
