Daily marriage devotionals for growing godly marriages

Daily marriage devotionals for growing Christian marriages

These daily marriage devotionals are compiled from verses that we have shared with Christian couples in many counseling sessions over many years. Please read one per day and meditate on how it applies to your marriage. (Note: if you are not certain you are a Christian, please read The Sinner’s Prayer)

“And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” (Revelation 22:7 NASB

This may seem like an odd verse to meditate on in a marriage devotional. But never before in history has the end time been closer than it is right now. We need to remember that there is something bigger and more important than the trials in our marriage.

The Apostle James wrote, “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” (James 1:2-4 NLT

The Apostle Peter wrote, “So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” (1 Peter 1:6-7 NLT

The Apostle Paul wrote, “Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.” (Romans 1:18-19 NLT

In marriage, this means that we must strive to follow God’s plan for our relationships. This includes putting our spouse’s needs above our own, showing love and respect at all times, and actively seeking to grow closer to God as a couple.

By keeping the words of prophecy, we can experience the blessings that God has in store for us in our marriage. We can have a strong, healthy, and loving relationship that is built on a foundation of faith.

So let us strive to keep the words of prophecy written in Revelation, and may our marriages be a testament to the love and grace of God.

This is an ongoing labor of love because these marriage devotionals will never be finished, but we have to start somewhere, so we will update often. We appreciate your support and prayers because this is a work of God not us. And please forgive us because we have never found a verse that doesn’t apply to marriage somehow.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. (Proverbs 30:5)
