There is an apocalypse coming. Prophets have been warning about it for thousands of years. Preppers have been preparing for hundreds of years. It’s not a nuclear war or irreversible climate change. It’s not going to feature zombies or vampires. But it is going to lead to The Final World War. Survival depends on only one thing.
First, let me be brutally honest. The chances of surviving through this apocalypse are extremely small. Six billion people are estimated to die over a seven-year long series of disasters. And the final disaster on the last day will kill everyone remaining who has not become prepared during those seven years.
Strangely, the word apocalypse means two completely opposite things at the same time. It means a prophetic uncovering revelation of the future and it means a universal wide-spread catastrophic disastrous world-ending calamity.
- Apocalypse [n. from Late Latin apocalypsis, from Greek apokalupsis, from apokaluptein to disclose, from apo- + kaluptein to hide] – The Book of Revelation. Any of a number of anonymous Jewish or Christian texts from around the second century bc to the second century ad containing prophetic or symbolic visions, especially of the imminent destruction of the world and the salvation of the righteous. –TheFreeDictionary
- The end of the world, especially as described in one of these texts. A great catastrophe that results in widespread destruction or the collapse of civilization: “The United States was calling in air strikes and heavy armor until we had the feeling that the whole thing was going to end in apocalypse” (Phillip Robertson). –TheFreeDictionary
According to Miguel de Cervantes, “Forewarned, forearmed; to be prepared is half the victory.” And the only way to survive this apocalypse is also the only way to avoid it. So ultimate preppers will prepare ahead of time to avoid this apocalypse by escaping before it begins.
The ultimate preppers guide to avoid the apocalypse
There is only one way to avoid the apocalypse. It is described in these two passages.
Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood can’t inherit the Kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “Death, where is your sting? Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:50-57 WEB)
But we don’t want you to be ignorant, brothers, concerning those who have fallen asleep, so that you don’t grieve like the rest, who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left to the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 WEB)
- What is the gospel? – The gospel was proclaimed by the prophets, lived by Jesus Christ, preached by the apostles, and spread through all the world. What is such good news?
- In the twinkling of an eye … we will be changed (1 Corinthians 15:52-53) – From our birth in dying mortal bodies. Then in a Twinkling of an eye. A single click of God’s clock. We will be changed to be immortal with God forever.
- What is the rapture? harpázō – seized by force, caught up, snatched away – Study of the Greek word harpázō translated as rapiemur in the Latin Vulgate Bible, which has been Anglicized as rapture for many centuries.
This may seem like bait-and-switch since the best way to survive is to avoid. But it’s not, because prevention is always better than cure. Healthy eating and exercise is better than diabetes. Brushing and flossing is better than a root canal. Defensive driving is better than a tow truck and an ambulance. But even if you are reading this too late to avoid, the same strategy will still work. But it will be much harder.
- Ministry of reconciliation (how to be reconciled to God) – Ministry of reconciliation – Jesus Christ has already finished the work to restore the relationship between you and God. Won’t you be reconciled to God?
- 101 Verses of Hope Beyond the Grave – Here are 101 verses on the Christian’s hope beyond the grave that overcomes fear—not some wishful gambler’s dream—but a confident expectation of the future
- Have you hardened your heart against God like Pharaoh? – Don’t be like Pharaoh who chose to deny God, so God hardened his heart to bear the plagues until the destruction was completed.
Procrastination could prove fatal
During the great tribulation, just a short time into the seal judgments, even before the trumpet judgments and the bowl judgments, conditions will be so disastrous that people will hide in caves and cry for the mountains to fall on them. So don’t delay decide today.
I watched as the Lamb broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood. Then the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green figs falling from a tree shaken by a strong wind. The sky was rolled up like a scroll, and all of the mountains and islands were moved from their places. (Revelation 6:12-14 NLT)
Then everyone—the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy, the powerful, and every slave and free person—all hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to survive?” (Revelation 6:15-17 NLT)
