Some outspoken Christian groups spew hatred for LGBTQ+ people so I want to set the record straight. God loves all people. God loves LGBTQ+ people. God loves you.
The most powerful message in the world for LGBTQ+ people
Here is the most quoted verse in the Bible. It is probably quoted millions or billions of times per year. Let’s consider its powerful message.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)
- God loves the world with supernatural agapé love
- God gave his Son to pay for all the sins of the world
- God calls each person in the world — one at a time
- God wants you to accept his finished work of salvation
- God defeated death to deliver you from eternal misery
- God offers eternal life of blessing without ending
There is no hatred in that message. Only love. God’s love. For the whole world. For LGBTQ+ people. And for you. Can I rewrite that famous verse just for you?
For God so loved you, that he gave his only begotten Son, that you should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)
Because everyone falls short of God’s standard
We all started off dead in sins and trespasses. Not kind of dead or almost dead. All the way dead. We were so dead that God couldn’t fix us or heal us, he had to give us a new birth so we would be a new creation.
For there is no distinction to be made anywhere: everyone has sinned, everyone falls short of the beauty of God’s plan. (Romans 3:23 PHILLIPS)
Sin is falling short of the beauty of God’s plan. We have all sinned. We all sin. We all fall short. It’s like in archery when you nock the arrow and draw the bow to aim at the target and find it’s not 100 feet or 100 miles, but more than 100-million miles away on the surface of the moon. There’s no way a human being can hit that mark. So, God did it for us.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. (Romans 3:23-26 NLT)
Everyone (the whole world, LGBTQ+ people, and you) fall short of the beauty of God’s plan every day. Nobody can ever hit that mark by themselves. Jesus Christ has to do it for everyone every day.
The result of falling short of God’s standard
If you don’t let Jesus Christ hit the mark of God’s beautiful plan for you, it won’t end well. Ever since Adam and Eve first missed the mark, the result of sin has been death. Without Jesus Christ, the odds are bad. Zero! Zip! Nada! No one would play that game if they had a choice.
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death was passed on to all men, because all sinned. (Romans 5:12)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
You don’t have to play that game. You can escape the wages of sin. You can accept the gift of God.
The answer for LGBTQ+ people is always Jesus
The good news of the gospel is Jesus Christ died to pay the penalty for all our sins. The whole world, LGBTQ+ people, and you, He destroyed the power of sin by his death and burial. Then he destroyed the power of death by his resurrection. Now he gives eternal live to anyone who believes in him.
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39 NLT)
Won’t you take a moment and yield your life to Jesus Christ. He never sleeps or grows weary. He is ready any time.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 NLT)
This is the message of faith that we spread. If you declare that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God brought him back to life, you will be saved. By believing you receive God’s approval, and by declaring your faith you are saved. Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be ashamed.” There is no difference between Jews and Greeks. They all have the same Lord, who gives his riches to everyone who calls on him. So then, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:8b-13 GWT)
Take a moment to admit you are a sinner. Take a moment to believe that Jesus Christ already paid the penalty for your sins. Take a moment to ask him to be your Lord and savior. And thank him for loving you and giving you eternal life.
If you prayed to accept Jesus Christ into your heart, will you please write to us and let us encourage you on the best decision you have ever made. We would like to help you get a Bible and meet other Christians in your area who are on the same journey as you.

- Messy Grace: How a Pastor with Gay Parents Learned to Love Others Without Sacrificing Conviction by Caleb Kaltenbach — Messy Grace shows us that Jesus’s command to “love your neighbor as yourself” doesn’t have an exception clause for a gay “neighbor”—or for that matter, any other “neighbor” we might find it hard to relate to. Jesus was able to love these people and yet still hold on to his beliefs. So can you. Even when it’s messy.
- The Gospel Comes with a House Key: Practicing Radically Ordinary Hospitality in Our Post-Christian World by Rosaria Butterfield — What did God use to draw a radical, committed unbeliever to himself? Did God take her to an evangelistic rally? Or, since she had her doctorate in literature, did he use something in print? No, God used an invitation to dinner in a modest home, from a humble couple who lived out the gospel daily, simply, and authentically.
Indeed Christ died for us all, but as saved people of God we are no longer to live in sin,but commanded to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God, and refrain from all sin, especially sexual sin. We need God’s help to do this, of course, but God’s grace does not teach us to continue in sin and teach others to sin
Is this true?I support lgbtq+ i am bisexual my self and love jesus and god .If you respond to my and use she/her i would perfer they/them pronouns.Thank you!
Yes, this is true. It’s not about you. It’s about God: who he is and what he did.
Excuse me but the verse says so that whoever believes in him shall have eternal life. not whoever in Israel believes in him shall have eternal life. he died on the cross so that all people will not be chained to a hell leash.
