The Bible Changes Everything

The Bible changes everything because its reveals God and His creation, humanity’s rebellion, God’s love and His promises, Jesus Christ’s vicarious death, burial, and resurrection to redeem us from our sins, and our eternal future.

In the shadow of night, where hope was thin,
Jesus changes everything, light breaking in.
From a world that’s astray, to a path so inviting,
Love changes everything, forever uniting.

Where doubt once reigned, and fears took flight,
Faith changes everything, making our path bright.
In our moments of despair, and times we’re facing,
Grace changes everything, with its endless embracing.

From earth’s weary roads, to streets golden and gleaming,
Heaven changes everything, beyond all we’re dreaming.

The concepts of Jesus, love, faith, grace, and heaven are central to Christian teachings and can be found throughout the Bible. Here are some verses that touch on each of these:

1. Jesus Changes Everything:

  • Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. (John 14:6 WEB)
  • But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 WEB)
  • Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB)

2. Love Changes Everything:

  • He who doesn’t love doesn’t know God, for God is love. (1 John 4:8 WEB)
  • For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16 WEB)

3. Faith Changes Everything:

  • Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 WEB)
  • Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 WEB)
  • So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17 WEB)

4. Grace Changes Everything:

  • For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB)
  • For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, (Titus 2:11 WEB)
  • He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB)

5. Heaven Changes Everything:

  • He will wipe away from them every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4 WEB)
  • In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. (John 14:2 WEB)

Each of these verses underscores the transformative power of these concepts in the life of a believer.
